Joshua Henry

On November 23rd. my baby brother was born. I think he's cute. ;) A couple days after he was born, he was diagnosed with a rare heart defect called Tetraology of Fallot. He will need open heart surgery in the next few months. Our family certainly appreciates any prayers you may have! Here is a picture of him.

Area Wide Devo at Palisades

Once a month our area of churches gather for a devo on the third Sunday of the month. I love getting to sing and be around other Christians my age. This month it was at the church where my uncle speaks. He gave a great lesson! I got to see two of my closest friends too. That was great! After the devo I got to hold my newest cousin, Ford. He's a sweet baby!

Freed Hardeman Lectures

This past week I got to go to the lectures at Freed Hardeman with some friends. It was so fun! I'm already missing it and my friends. A lot of memories were made. I really enjoyed a lot of the lectures! Here's some photos. :)

Homeschool

As many of you know, I am homeschooled. I love it. It gives me much more room for flexibility. I even finished a year of work in half the time it should! Most importantly it gives me more time to grow closer to God. I always have a good amount of time in the day to study my Bible and do stuff for convention.

PowerPoint

This years stead of using the PowerPoint software, we used a website called "Prezi."

There's a lot more you can do with Prezi! It was so fun to make. We had to base it off of chapter 12, "Love Your Spouse" from the Pearls book. Here is the link to the one I made. http://prezi.com/raq6miy7zvnx

Bible Journaling

A few days ago I decided to order a Bible with larger margins, otherwise known as a "journaling Bible." It's kind of like illustrating your faith. It really helps me concentrate on the verse! Now I'm no artist, but it's really fun! I try to do about an entry a day or so. Here are a few entries I have done in the last few days.

My Favorite Worship Song

I have a lot of songs I like to sing, but one of my favorites is Here I Am To Worship. It's a simple song, but the words mean so much. Worship is essential in our walks as Christians. What's your favorite church song?

EYC 2015

Yesterday I got back from Exposure Youth Camp. It was amazing. All of my friends were there and that was pretty cool! The theme of the week was about The Trinity. It was awesome to learn more about God with friends! Here are some pictures:

Friends

Yes, I have blogged about my friends multiple times, but they are a big part of my life. Most of my friends live a long ways away, but that makes me cherish them more. Having good Christian friends have helped me to grow spiritually closer to God. I will always remember having these friends and hopefully I will always have them! Do you have good friends?

Operation Christmas Joy

Today after our 1 p.m. service, our youth group got together and made little baggies full of goodies for kids in a less fortunate country. We put little toys, shampoos, lotions, pencils, and other little things in the baggies. Here where we live, we may think that those wouldn't be the typical Christmas gifts. I've been very fortunate to have things, and I thank God for that!

PTP

A couple of weeks ago we went to Polishing The Pulpit in Severville,Tennessee. This was probably one of the most spiritual uplifting weeks I've had in my life. All of the lessons and sermons we had were amazing. I especially enjoyed getting to see my friends I only get to see a couple of times a year. On Thursday, after the "final recharge," we went to an unlimited go kart place with a few of our friends. It was so much fun! I cannot wait till PTP 2016! Here are some pictures of the week.

Conforming

This past week at ICYC has been amazing. My best friend became my sister, met new friends and learned more about God. Our theme this week was transforming/conforming (Romans 12:2). As we drove home I scrolled through my Facebook and saw that the Supreme Court had voted that same sex marriage was constitutional. I could not think of a better time to not to conform to this world. Many people will tell you it doesn't matter, but I say if God says, it does! 1st Corinthians 6:9-11 tells us that!

All set aside, camp was awesome!

Complaining

The other day I decided to scroll through my Pinterest feed and found this. Not only is it true for the ballpark, but it also applies to the Church. Of course you can sit around and complain about how somebody doesn't do something right, but that most definitely isn't what God wants.

Do all things without complaining and disputing, (Philippians 2:14 NKJV)

People can complain all day, but does that change anything?

Softball

This year is my 9th year playing softball. I love it! I've been catching for about 5 seasons! I really enjoy catching. This year my team's name is "Hot Mess." Interesting name, I know. We have only lost 1 game and we only have one left! ): I will be sad when this season is over, but I'm excited about camp this summer.

West Concord

Today we had worship and then we ate and then had worship again. We call it "WEW." After that we headed over to the West Concord congregation to conduct worship. The girls had a short devo for the ladies. We used our Lads to Leaders songs, speeches and Bible reading during those times. I think we did great!

Beauty

What is true beauty?

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel -  rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. (I Peter 3:3-4 NKJV)

Many people believe that beauty can only be on the outside, that's not the case.

Someone who I think about when the word "beauty" comes to mind is Queen Esther. She is one of my favorite Bible characters. We know she was one of the most beautiful girls because even King Ahasurus chose her over ALL young women in the land. She also showed true inner beauty by saving her people, the Jews.

Are you showing true beauty?

Business

Over the past few years I've owned a duct tape "business." I've gone through many different titles, but I finally settled on JustDuctingAround. I enjoy making many different types of wallets. I even have an Instagram for all of my wallets! Over the past 2 or 3 years I've accumulated over 75 rolls of tape! I really enjoy playing around and creating different things.

About two weeks I ordered business cards. When I got them I was SO excited. I hope to create more things in the future! (:

Puppets

After worship this morning we practiced puppets for Lads to Leaders. This is our first year participating in this event. We love it so far! I am puppet #3. I can't tell you too much! (; Since I'm one of the oldest kids, I really enjoy helping the other kids. I know all the little kids are having fun!

Our script is about unity and how we should work together, which goes along with the theme "ONE."

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalms 133:1 NKJV)

Waiting

As I am typing this, I am waiting for it to snow. Our hope is dwindling as each hour passes by. I love snow. Waiting for this snow has reminded me how much we should hope to get the heaven. Unlike snow, we know we are going to heaven if we obey Him.

Lamentations 3:25 "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him."

   James Spann better be right!
